Strategy and Planning
HCIC bridges the gap between the organization's strategy and information technology by focusing on the value to be achieved by the organization through the use of technology.
HCIC believes
- Information technology must reinforce business priorities
- Process redesign and change management must be integrated with information technology implementation
- Technology projects must be owned by the enterprise and affected business process owners
- Technology must support human capital: knowledge, process and organization
- Technology must enhance the patient’s care experience
- Technology must be managed to turn potential benefits into reality
Value-based Planning
HCIC performs value-based planning including return-on-investment studies (ROIs) that identify the value of tangible and intangible benefits to articulate the value of IT to the organization. Our methodology:
- Identifies the “whys” of technology projects and aligns them with business priorities
- Identifies financial, clinical and organizational benefits and develops plans to realize the benefits
- Aligns technology with available resources including human capital
- Determines who owns the process and is responsible for outcomes
- Develops specific action plans and metrics to prioritize, assess and manage technology projects.
