Denise HarrisDenise Harris, principal with D. K. Harris Consulting Associates, LLC, based in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, has been a working director of hospice and home care agencies since 1979. She provides consultation in the areas of long range/strategic planning and retreat facilitation; leadership/management training and development; executive and manager mentorship and coaching; preparation of home care and hospice programs for certification and accreditation; organizational development; restructuring and growth strategies; customer service; marketing and referral development management and training; program needs assessments; and development of hospice inpatient units based on a program's unique community needs, resources and goals.

Ms. Harris' expertise spans the areas of telehealth, Pay-for-Performance and Quality Outcome programs on which she has spoken nationally, conducted national teleconferences, and published and co-authored several articles. Ms. Harris was the first Executive Director of Hospice Care, Inc. (originally Hospice of Greene County, Inc.), the first private non-profit, free-standing hospice incorporated in the Commonwealth of PA and dually certified as a hospice and home care agency. She was Director of Home Based Services for PinnacleHealth, a large four-hospital healthcare system based in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania and created from the merger of Polyclinic Medical Center and Harrisburg, Osteopathic and Seidle Hospitals. Home Based Services included Home Care, Hospice and Home Infusion Therapy.

A Charter Board member and three time past president of the Pennsylvania Hospice Network, Ms. Harris was inaugural winner of the Hospice Network's Nancy Bohnet Lifetime Achievement Award; a past member of the Hospital Association of Pennsylvania's Executive Committee Advisory Board for Home Health and Hospice; and past member of the Community/Home Care Services Task Force for the Pennsylvania Department of Health. She is currently Chair of the Pennsylvania Hospice Network's Public Policy Committee.
