Melinda Self has been involved with Home Health Care for over ten (10) years. Her experiences includes both consulting and senior level management positions responsible for the planning, consulting, system selection, contract negotiation, implementation, system reengineering and project management for the home health care environment. Ms. Self worked as a consultant with Johns Hopkins Home Care, as project manager for the successful implementation of the Billing and AR phases of the McKesson Horizons Home Care Product.

Ms. Self has worked in home health and with information systems since 1993. Ms. Self was an agency administrator and project manager for CareOne Home Health in Savannah, Georgia. She was responsible for the process reengineering strategies and software implementation of a homecare company with five (5) agencies and twenty-seven (27) branches. During the implementation of the McKesson Home Care Product she lead a team of five team members in the extensive role redesign, implementation of the computer based charting, scheduling, and billing systems. During the reengineering process eighty (80) FTE’s and the operating expenses of twenty seven (27) branches were eliminated while maintaining the same number of patients and service area. Ms. Self oversaw the creation and implementation of a Centralized Call Center for the company. By doing this the company was able to effectively handle patient and physician inquires and monitor referral activity more efficiently. Ms. Self also oversaw the implementation of a new supply management process, which increased the capturement rate of supplies from sixty (60) percent to ninety-two (92) percent with the first quarter of implementation. Responsibilities also included day-to-day operational activities, overseeing capital and operational budgets, managing strategic / large projects, and developing, mentoring and staff education.

Ms. Self received a B.S. in Nursing from Jacksonville State University, Jacksonville, Alabama.
