Jennifer Moore, MHSA
Senior Associate
Jennifer Moore, MHSA has been involved in management of health care information technology for over 17 years. Her experience includes senior management positions responsible for planning, consulting, system selection, and contract negotiation, implementation and customer support in several different health care environments.
Since joining HCIC three years ago, Ms. Moore has lead several clinical system selections and implementations including: Operating Room Management, Labor and Delivery, Oncology and others. She has provided project management, process redesign and workflow management, systems analysis, subject matter expertise and contract review / negotiation. In addition, Ms. Moore provided Project Leadership for several Home Health Information System acquisitions and implementations for both back office and point of care documentation.
Prior to joining HCIC, Ms. Moore was Director of Customer Support at Inova Health System, Fairfax, Virginia. She eliminated several outsourcing contracts and assembled a team of 70 staff members to support the desktop computing environment, as well as all non-enterprise applications. She also directed all technology and application efforts of the Alternate Care Divisions which included home health, long term care, occupational health, behavioral health, outpatient rehabilitation services, biomedical engineering, corporate health services, assisted living and IV services. She provided oversight for desktop and application support, capital and operating budgeting, local area network support and asset procurement and management of information technology for the INOVA hospitals and the alternate care divisions. She lead several system selections and implementations including: the Transplant clinical system at Fairfax Hospital, the GE Marquette OB central surveillance and clinical documentation at Fairfax and Fair Oaks Hospital, the Monet financial and clinical documentation in two long term care facilities, the McKesson home health agency management and clinical documentation system, and a NITSA sponsored automobile trauma research system at the Fairfax Hospital Trauma Center.
Prior to Inova Health System, Ms. Moore was the manager of applications and diversified information systems for Medstar Health, Baltimore, MD, where she participated in the development and execution of the strategic plan that called for the standardization of enterprise applications both clinical and financial. Her specific system experience includes Lawson financial systems, perioperative systems, all diversified information systems, financial and clinical documentation in the Home Health business unit, OB central surveillance and clinical documentation, central IV processing and distribution system, and infrastructure component for construction and relocation projects. She also held the positions of assistant director of information systems at Carroll County General Hospital in Westminster, Maryland and project manager at Daughters of Charity National Health System, East in Linthicum, Maryland.
Ms. Moore received a B.S. in Public and Business Administration from Mount Saint Mary’s College and a Master of Health Services Administration from the George Washington University. She is involved with local and national healthcare professional groups including Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) and serves on the board of the Maryland Society for Healthcare Information Systems Management (MSHISM).
