Jerry P. King, RHIA
Senior Associate
Mr. Jerry P. King has over forty years experience in the private sector and Government. He began his professional career in the field of Fire and Casualty Insurance, rising to vice-president over the course of ten years. Subsequently, he moved into Government at the National Institutes of Health where he held several management positions prior to his retirement as a Captain in the U.S. Public Health Service. His health information management expertise is quite varied, including traditional medical record administration, clinical research protocol administration and medical staff credentialing services, where he was primarily responsible for the initial development and implementation of multiple IT applications to support all aspects of records administration across the organization. In addition, he has been involved with procurement of goods and services as a certified Project Officer and served for over 25 years as the Privacy Officer of the Warren G. Magnuson Clinical Center at the NIH. Mr. King is well known for his analytical problem solving and his ability to translate theory into practice based on his many years of management experience. His consulting style is to establish a mutual understanding of the client’s challenges and develop real world solutions to improve function and understanding across the organization.

Education / Affiliations
Mr. King obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Health Information Management from the Towson State University and completed a post-graduate internship at the Public Health Service Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland. In addition, he has taken numerous professional classes and has been certified as a Registered Health Information Administrator by the American Health Information Management Association, as a Certified Records Manager by the Association of Records Managers and Administrators and as a Certified Medical Staff Coordinator by the National Association of Medical Staff Services. In addition, he is a member of the American Society of Access Professionals and the Health Information Management Systems Society. He has also held clinical faculty affiliations at several universities and colleges, including the University of Pittsburgh, Temple University, the College of St. Scholastica and the State University of New York at Utica/Rome.
